Led by Li Zhou, associate professor at the School of Biomedical Engineering, Tsinghua University, and director of the Health Technology Research and Development Center at Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, Beijing Key Laboratory of Clinical Innovation and Translation for Active Implantable and Interventional Medical Devices is rooted in actual clinical needs and focuses on key technological bottlenecks in the field of active implantable and interventional medical devices. It prioritizes core breakthroughs in high-end active implantable devices, minimally invasive interventional equipment, and intelligent modulation systems, primarily targeting cardiac and neurological indications.
The team at the Beijing Key Laboratory of Clinical Innovation and Translation for Active Implantable and Interventional Medical Devices will focus on conquering core challenges such as key component R&D, biocompatibility optimization, intelligent closed-loop control, and long-term clinical safety evaluation. Concurrently, the laboratory will advance the formulation of industry standards and the industrialization of research achievements. It is fully committed to building a world-class hub for the innovation and translation of active implantable and interventional devices, aiming to develop safe, effective, and independently controllable domestic innovative medical devices that rapidly bring cutting-edge medical technologies to patients.
