Center of Pharmaceutical Technology
The Center of Pharmaceutical Technology (CPT), Tsinghua University, established in 2010 as a university-level public research core facility, has been dedicated to advancing drug discovery. Operated by the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, this facility across the Medical Science Building, Ren Huan Building, and Biomedical Building integrates cutting-edge equipment valued 200 million RMB. Serving as a crucial interdisciplinary hub, CPT provides comprehensive support throughout the drug R&D pipeline. It synergizes multidisciplinary research in pharmaceutical sciences, medicine, and life sciences to establish a complete core facility system from molecular screening to preclinical research. The center has supported multiple national key R&D programs and technology transfers.
The six core facilities:
1. The PKPD Core equipped with high-resolution mass spectrometers and UPLC-QQQ enables qualitative and quantitative analysis.
2. The High-Throughput Screening Core processes 400,000 compound libraries using automated liquid handlers and high-content imaging systems.
3. The NMR Core features 400MHz liquid and 600MHz solid/liquid NMR spectrometers for structural identification and drug-target interaction studies.
4. The CADD Core equipped with high-performance computing cluster and drug design software, such as Schrödinger to ensure virtual screening, optimization and design evaluation.
5. The Neuropharmacology Core combines light microscopy and patch-clamp systems for neural mechanism investigations.
6. The upcoming Medicinal Chemistry Core (scheduled for 2025 launch) will complete synthetic-analytical integration capabilities.
