Chinese expert consensus on the management of glaucoma as a chronic disease (2026)
With the rapid aging of the population in China, the prevalence of glaucoma, as the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, continues to rise. The limited public awareness of glaucoma, coupled with inadequate diagnostic and therapeutic capacity at the primary healthcare level, substantially impedes early detection and timely intervention.
