Beijing Key Laboratory of Protein Degradation and Molecular Glue Therapeutics

Led by the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tsinghua University, Beijing Key Laboratory of Protein Degradation and Molecular Glue Therapeutics is co-established with partner institutions including the Institute of Hematology and Blood Diseases Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS), the General Hospital of Tianjin Medical University, and SmashBio (Beijing) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. Professor Rao Yu from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Tsinghua University serves as the director of the laboratory.

In addressing intractable diseases such as autoimmune disorders and malignant tumors, conventional clinical therapeutic strategies frequently confront challenges like recurring drug resistance and undruggable targets, creating an urgent need for breakthrough technologies and novel therapeutics. The Beijing Key Laboratory of Protein Degradation and Molecular Glue Therapeutics focuses on key clinical issues in the treatment of these intractable diseases and is dedicated to developing original protein degradation and molecular glue technologies. The laboratory's research directions include: 1) integrating clinical multi-omics big data with artificial intelligence technologies to analyze the mechanisms of primary and secondary drug resistance in existing therapeutics, thereby discovering potential novel targets; 2) employing protein degradation and molecular glue technologies as research tools, combined with AI analysis, to identify and validate novel targets with clinical translational potential, thus accelerating preclinical validation; 3) breaking through the limitations of existing therapeutic strategies to develop protein degradation and molecular glue drugs for the treatment of intractable diseases like autoimmune disorders and tumors, and conducting clinical studies on innovative drugs directed at novel targets.
