Beijing Key Laboratory of Liver Transplantation and Bionic Manufacturing

Beijing Key Laboratory of Liver Transplantation and Bionic Manufacturing is based at the Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, with co-building units including Tsinghua University, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, and the University of Hong Kong.

Under the leadership of Professor Dong Jiahong, Dean of the School of Clinical Medical Science (Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital) and a renowned hepatobiliary surgeon and liver transplantation expert, the laboratory follows a "clinically driven research model" and a "health product-oriented R&D model." It addresses gaps in liver transplantation research in China by focusing on liver preservation and repair. Key research directions include developing new efficient liver preservation solutions, intelligent bionic perfusion mechanical equipment for the liver, ex vivo liver perfusion maintenance and evaluation systems, novel liver cryopreservation methods, and new biological artificial livers. The laboratory aims to tackle critical core technologies in liver transplantation and bionic manufacturing.
