In 2022, Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital was approved as a Demonstration Research Ward by the Beijing Municipality. As a model unit for research ward development, our hospital focuses on strengthening the growth of key disciplines through a stratified and categorized approach. We actively promote the integration of industry, academia, research, and application, with a particular emphasis on the convergence of medicine and engineering. In the development of innovative drugs and medical devices, we are consistently at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, we harness digitalization to empower and lead new models for intelligent clinical trials.
In addition, we have established a translational medicine platform that bridges basic research and clinical applications. This platform includes a comprehensive technical support system centered around core laboratories and a biobank, actively exploring new collaborative innovation platforms between clinical and basic research.
Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital has dedicated a research ward area spanning 1,520 square meters, equipped with 50 beds, offering modern facilities. Looking ahead to 2024 and 2025, we plan to further expand this space and enhance both our hardware and software capabilities.
Currently, our hospital is certified by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) to conduct clinical trials across over 31 specialties, including hepatology, oncology, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, infectious diseases, and metabolic disorders. Additionally, 46 specialties are accredited to conduct clinical trials for medical devices.
By leveraging both dedicated and shared research ward areas, our hospital is well-equipped to undertake Phase I-IV clinical trials for drugs and medical devices. We also support investigator-initiated early exploratory clinical research projects. At the same time, we are actively advancing the application of intelligent technologies.
