Implementation Plan of Mid-term Examination of Annual Report/Thesis of Basic Medical Sciences Doctoral Students in School of Medicine

1、Requirements：

1. Doctoral students in the third year and above.

2. Each doctoral student should write a written annual report/mid-term review report on his/her research project and submit it to the Thesis Committee 4 weeks before the oral presentation. The oral defense can be conducted only after the written report is approved.

2、Organization mode and time

1. Organizing method: instructing teachers (groups) should organize themselves

2. Organizing time：

1）Annual report: done before the end of spring semester (week 16);

2）Mid-term paper review: no later than the end of spring semester (week 16) of the fourth year.

3、Evaluation Criterion：

The evaluation criterion obeys the centesimal system. "Written reports" accounts for 40%; Oral defense accounts for 60% (report should be in English, and questions can be answered in Chinese).

4、Written report content requirements：

Write in English, no more than 3000 words, Times New Roman, 10.5-11. Single- or 1.25-times line spacing.

5、Review Procedure:

1）The doctoral dissertation guidance group (at least 3 experts) will objectively and fairly evaluate and score the work progress and innovation, and give guidance. Off-campus experts can be invited if necessary. At least two experts from other disciplines should be invited to participate in the summary report of the thesis work of interdisciplinary doctoral students.

2）The oral defense should last for 30 minutes and the Q&A procedure should last for about 1 hour.
