The Executive Master of Translational Medicine (EMTM) program in Public Health at Tsinghua University is the first three-year on-the-job postgraduate program for senior clinicians and key members of the health industry in China. The project aims to cultivate visionary, intelligent, and innovative health leaders, accelerate the transformation from basic research to clinical application, promote the research and development of new drugs, new technologies, and new models, improve the overall medical level, and promote innovation of health science and technology. In the important and strategic opportunity period of promoting the construction of "Healthy China", we will cultivate interdisciplinary talents for the construction of "Healthy China" and make due contributions to improving people's health levels.

·New technology highlights the comprehensive advantages of Tsinghua University in the new technology frontier

The rapid development of "new technology" has overturned the traditional medical category. EMTM program makes full use of Tsinghua University's comprehensive advantages in technological innovation. This program enables students to fully understand the frontiers of research in biology, medicine, medical devices, the Internet, big data, and artificial intelligence, and promotes the development and practice of "new medicine".

The EMTM project responds to the "Healthy China 2030" plan, integrates the concept of "medical innovation benefits the health of the whole people" into the whole process of talent training, and trains the most urgently needed interdisciplinary talents for the construction of the innovation ecology of the health industry.

EMTM courses are composed of four modules, namely "water", "wood", "Qing" and "Hua", which respectively focus on the frontier of health science and technology, clinical research and supervision, health economy and humanistic management, and domestic and foreign investigation and practice.

·Water: Technology Frontier --Insight into the source of new medicine

The courses in this module focus on the translational medicine technology frontier, makes full use of the comprehensive advantages of Tsinghua University's new technology innovation and insight into the source of "new medicine".

·Wood: Clinical research -- Extend beyond the clinical pillars

This module focuses on the systematic and in-depth interpretation of clinical research and supervision of each key link. This is the fundamental guarantee to promote the transformation of innovative achievements.

·Qing: Humanistic management – Focus on in-depth virtue

The courses of this module aim at cultivating talents who not only understand modern medicine and technology, but also understand management and humanities. The courses aim at improving the students' comprehensive quality.

·Hua: social practice – Improve elegance

With human health as the starting point, this module aims at broadening the students' international vision and provide students with opportunities to study and exchange at home and abroad.

Required Skills

· In-service studying (40 credits in all)

· Domestic social practice

· Training in top health and medical institutions abroad (Elective)

· Dual tutorial system is encouraged：Campus tutor + industry tutor

· The total length of study shall refer to the requirements of the “Regulations on Graduate Student Status Management of Tsinghua University”

Certificate Issuing

Students will be awarded Graduate Diploma and Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Tsinghua University.
