Tsinghua University announced the formation of the Innovation Center for Immune Therapy (ICIT) in August 2016, established by the Institute for Immunology and Tsinghua University Office of Technology Transfer. The new center is chaired by Chen Dong, Director of the Institute for Immunology, and Qinxian Jin, Director of the Tsinghua University Office of Technology Transfer.

Tsinghua University Office of Technology Transfer was founded in June 2014, aiming to enable the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge and innovation commercialization. The establishment of the new center is a milestone testifying the efforts and the dedications of the university to bridge the scientific achievements and innovation-driven entrepreneurial development.

Through strategic cooperation with internationally renowned pharmaceutical companies, ICIT strive to cultivate the translation of basic research into immunotherapy drugs, accelerate the clinical application of immunological research discoveries and bring new treatments and therapeutics to the public.
