Doctors will not be replaced by AI—but doctors who don’t use AI will. The challenge is to learn to co-pilot with AI to deliver the best care for patients.
At the Tsinghua Medicine International Advisory Council 2025 meeting, Prof Joseph Sung, Senior Vice President of Nanyang Technological University Singapore and Dean of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, shared his vision for the future of healthcare:
🔹 Building strong clinical collaborations worldwide
🔹 Harnessing AI, biomedical engineering & drug discovery for real impact
🔹 Expanding joint education, including a new MOU enabling NTU students to learn healthcare in China
He emphasized how Tsinghua University’s strengths in science, engineering, and medicine can translate discovery into practice—towards a research-driven, patient-centered health system.
