Dr. Wang obtained doctoral degrees in ophthalmology from Capital Medical University and Heidelberg University, Germany. She received clinical and research training in glaucoma at University College London and Moorfields Eye Hospital, UK, and conducted ophthalmic research at the Devers Eye Institute, USA. She completed systematic clinical training in ophthalmology at Beijing Tongren Hospital, Capital Medical University. She currently works at Tsinghua University and practices at the Eye Center of Beijing Tsinghua Changgung Hospital, focusing on clinical ophthalmology, clinically oriented research, and translational studies.

• Structural morphology, biomechanics, and early diagnosis and intervention in glaucoma and high myopia

• Evidence-based research and clinical translation in myopia prevention, control, and treatment

• Population-based epidemiology of eye diseases, imaging big-data analysis, and population visual health research

• Development, clinical validation, and real-world translational application of ophthalmic artificial intelligence models

Dr. Wang has published more than 100 peer-reviewed SCI-indexed papers as first or corresponding author, with an H-index of 92. She has participated in several internationally renowned large-scale studies, including the Global Burden of Disease Study and the CREAM Study. As a major contributor, she has received the National Science and Technology Progress Award, the Huaxia Medical Award, and the Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award of Higher Education Institutions.

She was elected as a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Professors (AAPPO) in 2021. She was included in the global top 2% scientists list in 2023 and 2024, and in the global top 2% scientists career-long impact list in 2025. She was named among the Top 100 Ophthalmologists in the Asia-Pacific region in 2023 and 2025. In 2024, she was elected as a member of the Glaucoma Research Society (GRS), the leading international research society in glaucoma. In 2025, she was elected as a Fellow of the Academia Ophthalmologica Internationalis (AOI).
