The induction of adaptive immune memory is important for pathogen defense and is the primary goal of vaccine development. However, it also plays a major role in the pathogenesis of allergic and autoimmune diseases. Through the analyses of novel mouse models and clinical samples, we aim to understand the regulatory mechanisms underlying the differentiation, maintenance, and function of adaptive immune memory cells, in order to facilitate the rational design of vaccines and the development of novel therapeutic strategies for inflammatory diseases.
