Six Tsinghua Medicine Scientists Honored with Bayer China Academic Collaboration Awards 2024

Bayer, in collaboration with Tsinghua University and Peking University, recently announced the recipients of the Bayer China Academic Collaboration Awards 2024. The awards include the Bayer Endowed Chair, Bayer Investigator, Bayer Microfunding, and Bayer Postdoctoral Fellowship.

This year, Professor Feng Qian from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences was awarded the prestigious Bayer Endowed Chair. Professor Hang Yin from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Associate Professor Xiaohuan Guo from the School of Basic Medical Sciences were named Bayer Investigators. Additionally, Assistant Professor Kai Ma from the School of Biomedical Engineering, Associate Professor Zhihua Liu from the School of Basic Medical Sciences, and Associate Professor Xia Wang from the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences received research funding support through the Bayer Microfunding Program for their innovative scientific research projects.

To date, more than 220 distinguished scientists and young scholars in China have been honored with the Bayer Endowed Chair and Bayer Investigator awards. In addition to these recognitions, Bayer’s collaborative research with Tsinghua and Peking University has led to substantial achievements. The partnership has supported over 105 collaborative research projects, including the discovery and structural analysis of novel drug targets, studies on disease pathogenesis and mechanisms of drug action, drug screening and efficacy evaluation, and the exploration of new modalities, synthetic methods, and innovative formulations.
