Tsinghua Medicine Center for Physician Scientist Development

  • 1. Center Overview

    Established on March 25, 2023, Tsinghua Medicine CPSD is a collaborative platform for clinician training, jointly developed by the schools and affiliated hospitals of Tsinghua Medicine. Leveraging Tsinghua’s interdisciplinary strengths, it breaks down disciplinary barriers and cultivates innovative physician-scientists to advance translational medical research that serves public health and national strategies.

    Faculty Team

    The Center has strengthened its management and built a clear, efficient, and collaborative team. The Academic Group leads decision-making and ensures academic quality; the Teaching & Research Team supports training and project incubation; the Operations Team manages daily operations and coordinates with affiliated hospitals; and Research Assistants help implement programs and foster strong university-hospital collaboration.

    Research Training Camp

    Stage 1 → Clinical Research Methodology Training

    Intensive lectures covering four modules: Clinical Research, Translational Research, Interdisciplinary Frontiers, and Research Literacy

    Stage 2 → Project-Based Learning

    Dual-mentor system (clinical + research), with teams focused on clinical problem-solving

    Stage 3 → Tanoto Foundation Scientific Research Seed Fund Support

    Select outstanding projects, nurture CPSD Scholars, and provide 1–2 years of continuous research support and exchange opportunities.


    Future Medicine Lecture Series

    Academic exchange platform, focusing on four core medical fields

    Bringing together global experts and building cross-disciplinary platforms

    Hosting regular events, open to everyone


    CPSD Scholar Program

    Selection Mechanism: Outstanding projects from the Research Training Camp are chosen to receive Seed Fund support.

    Support System: Assistance with grant applications, manuscript preparation, and cross-institutional exchanges

    Training Objective: Cultivate core talents with both clinical and research capabilities
