I. Admission System

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences implements the “application - review” system in the enrollment of doctoral students. Candidates who meet the registration conditions set forth in the Prospectus for Postgraduate Enrollment of Tsinghua University and the applicable implementing rules shall submit relevant materials, and the name list will be determined according to the results of evaluation on the application materials. After the comprehensive assessment, outstanding candidates will be recommended for admission. The same method applies to the plan to strengthen the armed forces, the backbone program for ethnic minorities, the pairing assistance program and other related programs.

II. Admission Types

The types of doctoral students in the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences are as follows: fresh undergraduates recommended without examination to study for doctoral degree, and doctoral students through open enrollment. In addition to the enrollment organized by the school itself, the life science related research directions of the school will also conduct joint enrollment with the School of Life Science, the Department of Basic Medicine of the School of Medicine, and the Center for Life Sciences of Tsinghua University. The joint enrollment will be conducted in each July and September, as well as March and April of the next year respectively, and the enrollment assessment method will be the same.

III. Recruitment Schedule & Evaluation Method

In September, the school will enroll doctoral students, and also accept fresh undergraduates recommended without examination to study for doctoral degree, and doctoral students through open enrollment. If the annual plan of doctoral enrollment has been completed in September, no enrollment of doctoral students through open enrollment will be conducted in March of the next year; if the plan is not completed, the school will continue to enroll doctoral students through open enrollment in March. The enrollment assessment method will be the same in September and March. Enrollment for special programs such as the plan to strengthen the armed forces, the backbone program for ethnic minorities, the pairing assistance program and other related programs will take place in September only.

IV. Application Process

1. Applicants need to submit the following application materials

A. For Tsinghua University 2024 Undergraduate Students Recommended for Direct Graduate Admission

(1) Valid identity proof. Applicants must provide a valid People’s Republic of China resident identity card, with the front and back pages scanned and uploaded on one page.

(2) Proof of foreign language proficiency. CET-4 or CET-6 certificate or transcript, or other proof of foreign language proficiency.

(3) Personal statement.

(4) Tsinghua University Graduate Admission Integrity Commitment Letter.

(5) Application Form for Recommended Master’s/Doctoral Degree Graduate Admission.

(6) Two letters of recommendation from experts with an associate professorship (or equivalent title) or above in the relevant field of application.

(7) If academic papers, publications, or academic achievements have been published in core journals or conferences, please submit the acceptance letter or proof of publication. Only the first page of the published article is required.

(8) If there are awards or outstanding performances in extracurricular scientific and technological activities during the study period, please submit proof issued by the school’s academic affairs department with an official seal.

(9) Other materials that can prove research ability and level.

B. For External Undergraduate Students Recommended for Direct PhD Admission

(1) Valid identity proof. Applicants must provide a valid People’s Republic of China resident identity card, with the front and back pages scanned and uploaded on one page.

(2) Proof of enrollment, along with the China Higher Education Student Information Network's Online Verification Report of Student Status.

(3) Personal statement.

(4) Proof of foreign language proficiency. CET-4 or CET-6 certificate or transcript, or other proof of foreign language proficiency.

(5) Academic transcript during the undergraduate period (including academic ranking proof).

(6) Two letters of recommendation from experts with associate professor (or equivalent) title or above related to the applied major.

(7) Tsinghua University Graduate Admission Integrity Commitment Letter.

(8) “Application Form for Recommended Direct Admission to Master’s/Doctoral Degree Programs”.

(9) If you have published academic papers, publications, or achieved academic-level work outcomes in core journals or conferences, please submit the acceptance letter or proof documents. For published articles, only the first page is required.

(10) If you have received awards or shown outstanding performance in extracurricular scientific and technological activities during your studies, please submit proof documents issued and stamped by the school's academic affairs department.

(11) Other materials that can prove research level and ability.

2. Material Review and Comprehensive Assessment

The Graduate Admission Working Group of the Pharmacy School organizes a material review team to review all applicants' materials. Based on the comprehensive evaluation results, a list of candidates for the comprehensive assessment will be selected and notified to participate.

3. Recommendation for Admission

The Graduate Admission Working Group of the Pharmaceutical School determines the recommendation list based on the applicants’ comprehensive assessment scores, taking into account specific enrollment situations and training conditions, and combines it with the enrollment quota for that year. The list will be submitted to the Graduate Admission Working Group of the university for review and approval.
