The MD/Ph.D. program will add one more year of scientific research to the original experimental class training plan and adopt the "3+3+3" nine-year education system. Students with outstanding performance in the eight-year clinical medicine training program of the Medical Experimental Class will have the opportunity to apply for admission to Tsinghua University's MD/Ph.D. system doctoral training program.

In addition to the original medical practice training plan, the MD/Ph.D. program adds one year of overseas scientific research training, adopting the "3+3+3" nine-year training mode. Students who want to enter the clinical MD/Ph.D. program should apply before entering the second stage of the research training. After completing one year of the research training, students should take part in the qualification examination and those who meet the application criteria will be admitted to the training program, which can extend the research training to 3 years.
