In order to ensure my country’s leading position in the field of structural biology, especially cryo-electron microscopy, Beijing has further increased its investment in scientific research funding, policy resources, and personnel teams on the basis of the Advanced Innovation Center for Structural Biology. The Beijing Frontier Research Center for Biological Structure (English name: Beijing Frontier Research Center for Biological Structure, abbreviated FRCBS) based on "forward-looking, basic, interdisciplinary, and people-oriented" was established. The Beijing Frontier Research Center for Biological Structures was organized and established by the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, with world-renowned biologist Professor Shi Yigong as the center director, and Professor Wang Hongwei as the executive director. The center currently has 17 independent laboratories, with more than 40 post-doctoral fellows and more than 200 doctoral candidates.
