The Brii/SMTU joint postdoc program is seeking a creative, broadly-skilled and productive postdoctoral fellow to discover and develop novel biologic candidate products with therapeutic potential to be used for treating cancer, chronic infectious diseases or respiratory & autoimmune diseases. The candidate will investigate new approaches towards stimulating or inhibiting specific cytokine-mediated antigen-specific immune responses against pathogens, host targets or tumor. Specifically the candidate will be part of a team to evaluate novel bi-specific antibody candidate platforms for the treatment of chronic infection and/or cancer. The selected individual will be a well-organized and highly productive bench scientist who can design and execute experiments efficiently and interpret data in the context of multidisciplinary project teams. The position requires the ability to embrace new technologies quickly and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, matrix-structured work environment.
He/she will have general knowledge of the fields of Immunology, molecular and cell biology.
Strong hands-on experience with cell culture, immunology and animal models
· Experience in evaluating immunological responses to viral infection or tumors by various means such as multi-color flow cytometry, EliSpot, MSD and Luminex
· Experience in working with animal models for oncology or chronic viral disease
· Experience with molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, site-direct mutagenesis, RT-PCR and qPCR
· Experience performing standard laboratory procedures for the study of protein expression such as Western blot, ELISA and immune-staining techniques
· Willingness to work with BSL-2 and BSL-2* infectious agents if needed
Preferred but not required:
Experience with DNA viruses, cancer or autoimmune diseases
Experience developing therapeutic vaccines for chronic viral infections or cancer
Experience with T lymphocyte research and modulation of interleukin-receptor family related research.
Applicants with doctoral degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology or other related field, and shall obtain the degree for less than 2 years.
